About Me

My photo
John-Francis Friendship
After a career in business, I entered Religious Life in 1976 and spent 25 years with the (Anglican) Society of S. Francis and was ordained to the priesthood. From 2001 – 2011 I was Rector of a parish in Romford, London during which time I was released from my Vows. I am now a member of the Franciscan Third Order and, in addition to priestly ministry, offer Spiritual Direction and Pastoral Supervision. For 13 years I taught at the London Centre for Spiritual Direction as well as developing and co-delivering Exploring Christian Spirituality. In 2018 my first book, Enfolded in Christ – the Inner Life of a Priest was published by Canterbury Press and my second, The Mystery of Faith – Introducing Christian Belief, in 2019. A third in this ‘trilogy’, What Do You Seek – Treasures of Religious Life' will be published in the autumn of 2021. I also lead Quiet Days, Retreats and day Courses and continue to assist in parishes when invited.
